ABOUT OUR STAFF
Miss
Marcia has been
dancing as long as she can remember. She performed all over the Midwest,
for USO shows and toured Poland as a folk dancer. In 2002, she was chosen
to carry the Olympic Torch. She has choreographed for children’s
theater, dance galas in Reno and recently choreographed the dances for
the musicals “Anything Goes” and “Singin’ in the
Rain”. She also has performed as a professional tap dancer. She
is constantly taking classes for teachers and professionals in all areas
of dance and is part of a network of respected teachers throughout the
West. Miss Marcia has a degree in elementary education and uses that knowledge
when working with the variety of ages and learning styles of her students.
She is certified by Dance Masters of America. She has been married to
Dennis forever and they are the parents of Lisa, who is a professional
dancer and student at UNLV and Evan, who attends UCSB. She is grateful
every day for her wonderful family, staff, dancers, parents and friends
who are truly the ones who make our dancers “The Shining Stars of
Lake Tahoe”.
Miss
Angie brings a
dynamic hip hop and jazz style to her classes and her choreography. She
recently attended a workshop with the top jazz and hip hop choreographers
and dancers in the United States who are seen on the show “So You
Think You Can Dance” and was recognized for her talents by members
of the faculty. Miss Angie is a gifted singer and was instrumental in
the organization of the Diabetes Fundraiser at Harrah’s, which made
over $10,000 for this worthy cause. Miss Angie was diagnosed at 10 years
old with Type I diabetes and is an advocate for children with this lifelong
illness. Angie added the adult hip hop class to her schedule and they
love her style. She and her husband Dusty are the proud parents of Aurora.
Miss Jenny brings her high energy
teaching style to our hip hop, jazz and technique classes. She received
much of excellent training in a variety of areas of dance in Michigan
and was a dancer and choreographer for the national championship Michigan
State Dance Team. She performs professionally for various production companies.
She loves seeing her dancers grow and improve every time she teaches.
She and her husband Jorge have a home here in South Lake Tahoe.
Miss
Nicole
has studied ballet extensively for the last fifteen years including summer
ballet intensives. She stresses the importance of ballet training for
all dancers and her ballet technique class for jazz and lyrical dancers
is a favorite among the students. She brings a creative energy to her
classes and choreography and is responsible for the ballet productions
becoming an integral part of the recitals. She has danced professionally
for Eli Kerr’s show that toured Northern California, Northern Nevada
and Oregon and continues to perform for Tahoe Entertainment’s special
events. She just recently finished dancing in “The Chipper Lowell
Experience”. Her children Kasey and Alyssa can be seen charming
the older students at the studio. Miss Nicole was on the task force for
the Diabetes Fundraiser. Her son Kasey, was diagnosed with diabetes in
March of 2006 at the age of 2.
Miss
Robin
is the new ballet mistress of the dance studio. From the time she started
taking classes, she was recognized for her exceptional talent as a dancer.
She studied with various ballet schools and performed in ballet companies
all over the United States. She also has a long career as a performer
in other dance styles. She loves sharing her vast knowledge and background
with her students and is proud that her ballet students have gone on to
join ballet companies all over the country. Miss Robin is also a clothing
and costume designer and seamstress. She and her husband Keith have a
home in Christmas Valley.
Miss
Lynne has been
bringing her energetic theatrical style to our students for over ten years.
She grew up dancing at her mother’s studio and went on to dance
professionally both nationally and internationally. She has choreographed
countless professional productions and is the owner /director of Tahoe
Entertainment and Events, a professional production company. She has been
a great source of information and inspiration to our students who have
gone on to careers in dance and performing, helping them develop their
resumes and coaching them for auditions. She and her husband David own
and operate “My Wedding Planner” and she is a very busy mom
to Kyra and Ariah.
Miss
Edeanna choreographs
jazz and hip hop and teaches jazz technique. She also works with the high
school dancers on partnering. She is a professional dancer with an extensive
background and an extensive list of credits. She is the co-owner of a
professional production company, Lucky Rabbit Productions and brings professional
dancers from her company to work with our students. Edeanna is also a
costume designer and talented seamstress.
Miss
Lisa
is a hip hop wonder with our boys’ classes. She credits this to
being very involved in her younger brother Dakota’s activities as
he is growing up. She began dancing at 4 years old and has never stopped.
In high school, she received a scholarship to study dance at Cal Arts.
She performs in productions at the college and throughout the community.
Her 4 year old daughter Cayla loves to dance too.
Miss
Ashleigh
is teaching our young classical ballet students and is able to substitute
teach everything from the pre-school dance to advanced Irish. She studied
dance from the age of 3, attended numerous workshops, was a member of
the high school’s championship dance team, performed in the Nutcracker
for 4 years and recently was a member of a performing dance group. She
taught dance in Lodi and Jackson before returning to Lake Tahoe.
Miss
Penny’s background in gymnastics make her the “go
to” person for tumbling. In addition to revamping our tumbling program,
she helps with everything from choreography to sewing. She has a degree
in engineering, works for Tahoe Conservancy and is very active in the
Performing Arts Board at the high school. She and husband Denny are the
parents of Nick and Kelsie.
Bubba Romagnolo just
returned from a summer workshop in musical theater at NYU. He has performed
in numerous lead roles including Cosmo Brown in “Singin’ in
the Rain”, for which he won a talent scholarship. His energy and
talent are contagious in the boys classes.
Miss Anna fell in
love with Irish dancing. She continues to study extensively with Miriam
Blanchette, a certified Irish instructor, so she can bring the best to
her students.
Miss Jenny works with
the Irish students. She began as a pre-schooler at the studio and studied
all forms of dance. She began assisting with the Irish classes last year
and is now one of our teachers for the Irish dancers.
